Update on safety situation near 22 brookfield road
Councilman Boxhill: requested additional information from the speaker and will circle back after
speaking with other departments
Councilman Gleason: explained that she was driving by during the holiday and was speaking with
the police commissioner who went over and saw that there was no traffic being able to move during
that time. Saw the mosque own security that was present. There needs to be a study done before any
action that can be taken. They need to come up with a better parking plan. Parking with deptartment
of recreation or youth bureau to utilize the buses for shuttling.
Councilman Thompson: will speak with Police Department and ordinance team and to see if there
can be a police presence in the area and will speak to the mosque to see if they can partner with the
school district and they can probably get a charter bus to transport them from the parking to the
mosque so they can worship and the homeowners can not be. It is a safety hazard because
emergency vehicle can get down the street.
