CALL TO ORDER / PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Lead by Councilman Wallace
Council President Derrick Thompson called the meeting to order and provided general house-keeping
rules, including encouraging citizens to share the meeting on social media and what to do “in case of
emergency”. Council President Thompson explained the 3-minute-plus-1 public comment rule. He then
asked a Councilperson to lead the council in the Pledge of Allegiance. Council President then proceeded
to the Public Speakers session of the evening (listed below as public comment).
PUBLIC COMMENT
1.) Wilma Frank - 7:05 PM
Spoke on her situation with the Department of Buildings and needing a permit to have her roof
repaired
Council Response:
Councilman Wallace: I will assist on helping expedite the process on getting a permit to fix a leaking
proof
Councilwoman Gleason: I contacted Deputy Commissioner Mamak and she will help assist with the
permit
Councilman Boxhill: I am confident that the issue will be handled quickly and I appreciate your apology
Mrs. Frank
Councilwoman Turnquest - Jones: Thank you Mrs. Frank, but you don't owe us an apology for a first
time offense. This will be helpful to others when they have a roof leak too
Council President Thompson: I will look at the forms because I am unsure of what permit is needed.
The permits are there to protect homeowners.

Councilman Boxhill: I will review the information as well but thank you for sharing.
Councilwoman Turnquest - Jones: I read the article sent and was alarmed by the information and how
they are using surveillance against immigrants
