A RESOLUTION APPOINTING
LENWORTH WILLIAMS
TO THE TAXICAB COMMISSION
WHEREAS, under Chapter 238, Section 238-2 of the Code of the City of Mount Vernon, the Taxicab Commission; “The Taxicab Commission shall consist of nine members.. the City Council shall appoint four members, one of which shall be a representative from a consumer group, one from a community advocacy group, one shall be a person who is physically challenged, and one shall be a duly licensed and admitted attorney who shall chair the Commission, for a term of three years. All such members shall serve without salary and at the pleasure of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, by letter dated December 8, 2023, the City Clerk wishes to appoint Lenworth Williams as the duly licensed and admitted attorney who shall chair the Commission for a term of three (3) years, commencing December 27, 2023, and expiring December 26, 2026; NOW, THEREFORE, be it
RESOLVED, that this City Council does hereby appoint Lenworth Williams as the duly licensed and admitted attorney who shall chair the Commission for a term of three (3) years, commencing December 27, 2023, and expiring December 26, 2026; and be it further
RESOLVED, that this resolution shall take effect immediately.
