RESOLVED, that an ordinance adopted by the City Council on December 27, 2023, and signed by the Mayor on December 28, 2023, authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ("E.P.A") for the acceptance and Utilization of Federal Community Funding grant - (Funds for this grant will be deposited into Revenue Codes H4097-C939 and H4097-C944 {Federal Aid}; Appropriation of funds shall be made to Budget Code H8120.203 C939 {Sanitary Sewer Expenditures} and H8140.203 {Storm Sewer Expenditure} throughout the contract period), be and the same is hereby approved.

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE U.S.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY ("EPA")
FOR THE ACCEPTANCE AND UTILIZATION OF THE
FEDERAL COMMUNITY FUNDING GRANT
Whereas, by letter dated November 22, 2023, the Commissioner of the Department of Public Works ("DPW") has requested legislation authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ("EPA") for the acceptance and utilization of the Federal Community Funding Grant of $1.5 million for Mount Vernon Sewers Rehabilitation; and
Whereas, the City of Mount Vernon has been awarded a federal Community Funding Grant of $1.5 million by the US Environmental Protection Agency ("EPA") for projects supporting Mount Vernon Sewers Rehabilitation; and
Whereas, the City Council acknowledges the importance of accepting and utilizing these funds to enhance and maintain the city's sewer infrastructure; and
Whereas the funds will be deposited into Revenue Codes H4097-C939 and H4097-C944 (Federal Aid) to be appropriated to Budget Codes H8120.203 C939 (Sanitary Sewer Expenditures) and H8140.203 C944 (Storm Sewer Expenditure) throughout the contract period; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
