A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO ATTEND THE UNITED STATES CONFERENCE
OF MAYORS (USCM) 2026 FALL LEADERSHIP
MEETING IN SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, the City of Mount Vernon recognizes the importance of continuing education, professional development, intergovernmental engagement, and the exchange of best practices among municipal leaders; and
WHEREAS, the United States Conference of Mayors ("USCM") will convene its 2026 Fall Leadership Meeting in San Diego, California, from September 24, 2026, through September 26, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the USCM Fall Leadership Meeting brings together USCM Trustees, Advisory Board members, Commission Chairs, Task Force Chairs, and members of the Executive Leadership Team for the purpose of developing organizational strategies, establishing priorities, engaging with federal officials and members of Congress, and identifying emerging issues affecting municipalities throughout the United States; and
WHEREAS, attendance at the USCM 2026 Fall Leadership Meeting will provide the Mayor with an opportunity to network with fellow mayors and municipal leaders, exchange information and best practices, and gain knowledge concerning innovative programs, policies, and strategies that may benefit the residents of the City of Mount Vernon; and
WHEREAS, the registration fee for Member Mayors to attend the 2026 Fall Leadership Meeting is at no cost to the City; and
WHEREAS, the total cost of the Mayor's attendance, including transportation, lodging, and incidental expenses, is anticipated not to exceed One Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($1,700.00); and
WHEREAS, all allowable expenses associated with the Mayor's attendance shall be charged to Budget Account A1030.402 - BOE Education and Travel, subject to applicable City policies, procedures, and budgetary requirements; and
