A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MOUNT VERNON, APPOINTING
R. THOMAS UMSTEAD TO THE
CABLE TELEVISION ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Whereas, Chapter 12, Section 12-4 of the Mount Vernon City Code provides for the appointment of members of the Cable Television Advisory Committee by the City Council; and
Whereas, the Cable Television Advisory Committee plays a vital role in advising the City Council on matters related to cable television services, ensuring the community’s needs and concerns are effectively addressed; and
Whereas, R. Thomas Umstead has demonstrated expertise and commitment in the field of media and telecommunications and is well-qualified to serve as a member of the Cable Television Advisory Committee; and
Whereas, the City Council finds it in the best interest of the residents of Mount Vernon to appoint R. Thomas Umstead to the Cable Television Advisory Committee for a term of two (2) years; Now, Therefore, Be it
Resolved by the City Council of the City of Mount Vernon, as follows:
Section 1. Appointment. The City Council hereby appoints R. Thomas Umstead as a member of the Cable Television Advisory Committee for a term of two (2) years, commencing on February 26, 2025, and expiring on February 25, 2027.
Section 2. Duties and Responsibilities. R. Thomas Umstead shall serve in accordance with Chapter 12, Section 12-4 of the Mount Vernon City Code, actively participating in committee meetings, advising on cable television issues, and providing recommendations to the City Council.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption by the City Council.
