City Council:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MOUNT VERNON, NEW YORK,
APPOINTING THOMAS HOLCOMB TO
THE TAXICAB COMMISSION
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 238, Taxicab Commission, § 238-2 of the Code of the City of Mount Vernon, the City Council is authorized to appoint members to the Taxicab Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to appoint Thomas Holcomb, a community advocate, to serve as a member of the Taxicab Commission; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Holcomb possesses the commitment and qualifications necessary to serve the residents of the City of Mount Vernon in this capacity; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the appointment of Mr. Holcomb will further the effective administration and oversight of matters within the jurisdiction of the Taxicab Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Mount Vernon, New York, as follows:
Section 1. The City Council hereby appoints Thomas Holcomb to serve as a member of the Taxicab Commission of the City of Mount Vernon, pursuant to Chapter 238, Taxicab Commission, § 238-2 of the Code of the City of Mount Vernon.
Section 2. Mr. Holcomb shall serve for a term of two (2) years, commencing on September 9, 2026, and ending on September 8, 2028, unless sooner removed or otherwise provided by law.
Section 3. Mr. Holcomb shall perform the duties and responsibilities of a member of the Taxicab Commission in accordance with Chapter 238 of the Code of the City of Mount Vernon and all other applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately.
Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to certify and transmit a copy of this Resolution to the appropriate City departments and to Thomas Holcomb.
