City Council:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MOUNT VERNON, PROVIDING FOR THE
APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO
THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TASK FORCE
Whereas, the City of Mount Vernon recognizes the importance of economic development initiatives in fostering sustainable growth, creating job opportunities, and enhancing the quality of life for its residents; and
Whereas, the establishment of an Economic Development Task Force will facilitate collaboration among key stakeholders to develop policies, strategies, and initiatives aimed at advancing economic prosperity within the City of Mount Vernon; and
Whereas, the City Council is committed to appointing qualified members to the Economic Development Task Force to ensure the effective planning and implementation of economic development programs; and
Whereas, it is in the best interest of the City of Mount Vernon to appoint members of the City Council to serve on the Economic Development Task Force to provide leadership, oversight, and guidance in its activities; Now, Therefore, Be it
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mount Vernon, as follows:
Section 1. Establishment of Economic Development Task Force. The Economic Development Task Force is hereby established to advise and assist in the development and implementation of policies and initiatives that promote economic growth within the City of Mount Vernon.
Section 2. Appointment of Members. The following members of the City Council are hereby appointed to serve on the Economic Development Task Force for the terms specified below:
1. Council President Danielle Browne - City Council Member
o Term: One (1) year, commencing on February 26, 2025, and expiring on February 25, 2026.
2. Pro Tem Councilman Edward Poteat - City Council Member
o Term: Two (2) years, commencing on February 26, 2025, and expiring on February 25, 2027.
