City Council:
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A TWELVE (12)
MONTH LEAVE OF ABSENCE TO
MR. MIGUEL WOLFE FROM HIS PERMANENT
POSITION AS AN OFFICE ASSISTANT TO
SERVE AS A BUILDING CLERK WITHIN
THE DEPARTMENT OF BUILDINGS
WHEREAS, in a letter dated February 27, 2025, the Commissioner of the Department of Buildings formally requested the authorization of a twelve (12) month leave of absence for Mr. Miguel Wolfe from his permanent position as an Office Assistant, effective from March 3, 2025, through March 3, 2026; and
Whereas, Mr. Miguel Wolfe is currently employed as an Office Assistant with the City of Mount Vernon; and
Whereas, Mr. Wolfe has demonstrated extensive knowledge and expertise in the permitting process, procedures, and the unified solar application process; and
Whereas, the Department of Buildings has identified the need for Mr. Wolfe to assume the position of Building Clerk to enhance its operational efficiency and public service capabilities; and
Whereas, it is in the best interest of the City of Mount Vernon to facilitate this transition while preserving Mr. Wolfe's permanent status as an Office Assistant; and
Whereas, Mr. Wolfe has requested a twelve (12) month leave of absence from his permanent position as an Office Assistant, effective March 3, 2025, through March 3, 2026, to fulfill the duties of the Building Clerk position; and
Whereas, the City Council finds it appropriate and necessary to grant the requested leave of absence to support the needs of the Department of Buildings; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain and enact:
Section 1. Grant of Leave of Absence. The City of Mount Vernon hereby grants Mr. Miguel Wolfe a leave of absence from his permanent position as an Office Assistant for twelve (12) months, commencing on March 3, 2025, and concluding on March 3, 2026.
