A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MOUNT VERNON, NEW YORK
APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE MOUNT VERNON
CHARTER REVIEW COMMISSION BY THE CITY COUNCIL

WHEREAS, Section 268 of the Mount Vernon City Code provides for the appointment of the members of the Charter Review Commission; and
WHEREAS, Section 268 of the City Code states, "A Mount Vernon Charter Review Commission ("Commission") composed of 15 members shall be appointed, and no later than every 10th year thereafter following the expiration of the term of this Commission, a later separate Commission shall be appointed, as herein provided, to review the existing Charter of the City and recommend revision of or amendment to the Charter to the residents of the City of Mount Vernon"; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Charter Review Commission is to review the existing Charter of the City and recommend any necessary revisions or amendments to ensure that the Charter meets the current and future needs of the City and its residents; and
WHEREAS, the following individuals have been appointed by the City Council to serve as members of the Charter Review Commission effective March 22, 2024:
1. Vanessa Ridder
2. Delores Lopes
3. Brian Dwyer
4. Kevin St. Croix Morrison
5. Monica L. Whiting-Hogans
6. Raquel Bennett
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOUNT VERNON, NEW YORK:
Section 1. The City Council hereby acknowledges and approves the City Council's appointments of the following individuals to the Mount Vernon Charter Review Commission effective March 22, 2024:
1. Vanessa Ridder
2. Delores Lopes
3. Brian Dwyer
4. Kevin St. Croix Morrison
5. Monica L. Whiting-Hogans
6. Raquel Bennett
