Board of Estimate & Contract Special Meeting:
A RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE
FOR A PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING THE
PROPOSED 2027 ANNUAL ESTIMATE FOR
THE CITY OF MOUNT VERNON
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 81 of the Charter of the City of Mount Vernon, as amended, the Board of Estimate and Contract is required to provide notice and conduct a public hearing concerning the proposed annual estimate for the ensuing fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Estimate and Contract has determined that a public hearing concerning the proposed 2027 Annual Estimate for the City of Mount Vernon shall be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time), at the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Mount Vernon, New York; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk is required to provide notice of said public hearing in accordance with Section 81 of the Charter of the City of Mount Vernon, as amended, including publication of a summary of the proposed budget prior to the public hearing; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Estimate and Contract authorizes the City Clerk to cause a summary of the proposed 2027 Annual Estimate to be published on Friday, November 6, 2026, in accordance with the requirements of Section 81 of the Charter; and
WHEREAS, the cost of publication and any related expenses shall be charged to Budget Code A1210.404 (Miscellaneous), Office of the Mayor, 2026 Budget; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Estimate and Contract has reviewed the proposed itemized statement of estimated revenues and expenditures for the fiscal year commencing January 1, 2027, and desires to submit the same in final form to the City Council for consideration following the required public hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Estimate and Contract of the City of Mount Vernon, as follows:
