RESOLVED, that an ordinance adopted by the City Council on December 13, 2023, and signed by the Mayor on December 14, 2023, authorizing the Interim Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety to attend the African American Mayors Association ("AAMA") Board of Trustees Meeting hosted by Axon - (Westin Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona from December 15, 2023, to December 17, 2023. $1,500.00 to be satisfied from Budget Line #A3120.451 {Training}), be and the same is hereby approved.

COMMISSIONER OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
SAFETY TO ATTEND THE AFRICAN AMERICAN
MAYORS ASSOCIATION ("AAMA")
BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING HOSTED BY AXON
Whereas, by letter dated December 6, 2023, the Interim Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety has requested legislation authorizing him to attend the African American Mayors Association ("AAMA") Board of Trustees Meeting hosted by Axon; and
Whereas, the Interim Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety, David Gibson, has been invited to attend the AAMA Board of Trustees Meeting hosted by Axon; and
Whereas, Axon is the vendor providing body cameras and software to the City of Mount Vernon Police Department; and
Whereas, the purpose of the meeting is to share insights into Axon's products, discuss the role of justice in the community, and promote an ethical public safety culture; and
Whereas, the meeting will be held at the Westin Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona from December 15, 2023, to December 17, 2023; and
Whereas, the total cost for the Commissioner's training shall not exceed $1,500.00; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
