A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MOUNT VERNON, NY APPOINTING
CONSTANCE GERRIE POST TO THE MOUNT
VERNON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TASK FORCE
Whereas, the City of Mount Vernon recognizes the importance of economic development in fostering growth, job creation, and overall prosperity within the community; and
Whereas, the City Council seeks to establish and appoint members to the Economic Development Task Force to support and advance strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing economic opportunities within the City; and
Whereas, the Economic Development Task Force will serve as an advisory body to the City Council, providing recommendations and insights to promote sustainable economic development; and
Whereas, Constance Gerrie Post, a resident of the City of Mount Vernon, has demonstrated commitment and expertise in economic development and community engagement; and
Whereas, the City Council desires to appoint Constance Gerrie Post as a member of the Economic Development Task Force for a term of two (2) years, commencing on February 26, 2025, and expiring on February 25, 2027; Now, Therefore, Be it
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mount Vernon, as follows:
Section 1. Appointment. The City Council authorizes the appointment of Constance Gerrie Post to the Economic Development Task Force to serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council on matters related to economic development.
Section 2. Duties and Responsibilities. As a member of the Economic Development Task Force, Constance Gerrie Post shall serve as a member of the Mount Vernon Economic Development Task Force for a term of two (2) years, commencing on February 26, 2025, and expiring on February 25, 2027, and shall actively participate in the development and implementation of strategies to promote economic growth, support local businesses, and enhance the economic well-being of the City of Mount Vernon.
Section 3. Implementation. The City Clerk is directed to notify Constance Gerrie Post of her appointment and to take all necessary actions to effectuate this resolution.
Section 4. Effective Date. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the City Council.
