RESOLVED, that an ordinance adopted by the City Council on December 27, 2023, and signed by the Mayor on December 28, 2023, authorizing the utilization of American Rescue Plan Act funds for existing contract renewal with Dell for Microsoft Services - ($ 192,024.95 from the City’s ARPA funds {H1680.203C927}), be and the same is hereby approved.

AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE UTILIZATION
OF AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT FUNDS FOR
EXISTING CONTRACT RENEWAL WITH
DELL FOR MICROSOFT SERVICES
Whereas, by letter dated December 13, 2023, the Commissioner for the Department of Management Services has requested legislation authorizing and approving the allocation of $192,024.95 from the City’s ARPA funds (H1680.203C927) to fulfill the payment due on the existing contract with Dell for Microsoft services. This allocation will cover the renewal for City Hall and the Police Department; and
Whereas, the City of Mount Vernon has received funds under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA); and
Whereas, the City has an existing contract with Dell for Microsoft services that requires annual renewal to ensure uninterrupted services; and
Whereas, the total amount due for the yearly renewal is $192,024.95, covering City Hall ($115,486.07) and the Police Department ($76,538.88); and
Whereas, the City Council recognizes the need to utilize ARPA funds for the efficient and uninterrupted continuation of essential services; Department; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain, and enact:
Section 1. Allocation of ARPA Funds. The City Council approves the allocation of $192,024.95 from the City’s ARPA funds (H1680.203C927) to fulfill the payment due on the existing contract with Dell for Microsoft services. This allocation will cover the renewal for City Hall and the Police Department.
Section 2. Uninterrupted Services. The utilization of ARPA funds for the existing contract renewal aims to ensure uninterrupted services from the vendor.
Section 3. Compliance with Regulations. Upon approval, the Finance Department will work to ensure that the allocated funds are disbursed under all applicable federal regulations and city policies.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its approval by the Board of Estimate & Contract.
