Board of Estimate & Contract:
RESOLVED, that an ordinance adopted by the City Council on March 13, 2024, and signed by the Mayor on March 14, 2024, authorizing the condemnation and disposal of Nineteen (19) City-Owned Vehicles, be and the same is hereby approved.

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
CONDEMNATION AND DISPOSAL OF
NINETEEN (19) CITY-OWNED VEHICLES
Whereas, by letter dated March 4, 2024, the Commissioner for the Department of Public Works has requested legislation authorizing the condemnation and disposal of City-owned vehicles; and
Whereas, the City of Mount Vernon possesses nineteen (19) city-owned vehicles that are deemed unfit for service due to their mileage, obsolescence, and non-serviceability; and
Whereas, it is necessary to condemn and dispose of these vehicles in a timely and efficient manner; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain, and enact:
Section 1. Condemnation and Disposal Authorization. The City Comptroller is hereby authorized to condemn and dispose of the following city-owned vehicles:

Section 2. Disposal Proceeds. Brookfield Resource Management has offered $21,000.00 payable to the City of Mount Vernon for the disposal of these vehicles. The proceeds from the disposal shall be deposited into Account Code A2650 - Sales of Scrap and Excess.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval by the Board of Estimate and Contract.
