A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MOUNT VERNON, NEW YORK
HONORING AND RECOGNIZING THE
RETIREMENT OF FIREFIGHTER JOHN DelGUERCIO
Whereas, the great City of Mount Vernon, NY, joins the Fire Administration in recognizing the retirement of FIREFIGHTER JOHN DelGUERCIO, from Active Service on July 29, 2024; and
Whereas, FIREFIGHTER JOHN DelGUERCIO began his distinguished career with the Mount Vernon Fire Department on December 16, 2004, and faithfully served the community for 19.7 years; and
Whereas, FIREFIGHTER JOHN DelGUERCIO, throughout his career, held various positions within the department, demonstrating unwavering commitment and professionalism in every role; and
Whereas, he was last assigned to Group 2, Engine Company 203 at Station #3, and Engine Company 204 at Station #4, where his leadership and dedication to service were evident to both his peers and supervisors
Whereas, FIREFIGHTER JOHN DelGUERCIO took pride in engaging with the community, especially through outreach efforts to inspire and educate the city’s youth about the Fire Service, encouraging them to pursue careers in public service. His peers and leaders highly regarded Firefighter Del Guercio, recognizing his dedication, work ethic, and invaluable service to the City of Mount Vernon. His retirement on July 29, 2024, marks the conclusion of a career that has brought great credit upon him and reflects his deep commitment to the safety and well-being of the Mount Vernon community; Now, Therefore, be it
Resolved, that the City Council of Mount Vernon hereby recognizes and extends its heartfelt gratitude to FIREFIGHTER JOHN DelGUERCIO for his outstanding 19.7 years of service, his unwavering dedication to the fire department, and his lasting impact on the community he has so faithfully served; be it further
Resolved that this proclamation serves as a testament to the invaluable contributions of FIREFIGHTER JOHN DelGUERCIO and that a copy of this resolution be presented to him as a token of our appreciation for his service.
