RESOLVED, that an ordinance adopted by the City Council on February 28, 2024, and signed by the Acting Mayor on February 28, 2024, authorizing the attendance of the Deputy Comptroller and one staff member at the 2024 New York Government Finance Officers Association (NYGFOA) Conference. (Albany, NY from April 17 - 19, 2024. $510.00, to be charged to Budget Code A1325.417 {Education and Training} and Travel expenses, including lodging, not to exceed $2,500.00 for both attendees, to be charged to Budget Code A1315.402 {Travel Expenses}), be and the same is hereby approved.

OF THE DEPUTY COMPTROLLER AND ONE STAFF
MEMBER AT THE 2024 NEW YORK GOVERNMENT
FINANCE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION (NYGFOA)
CONFERENCE
Whereas, by letter dated February 21, 2024, the Comptroller has requested legislation authorizing the attendance of the Deputy Comptroller and one staff member at the 2024 New York Government Finance Officers Association (NYGFOA) conference in Albany, NY, from April 17-19, 2024; and
Whereas, the City of Mount Vernon recognizes the importance of professional development and networking opportunities for its employees, especially in the field of government finance; and
Whereas, the 2024 New York Government Finance Officers Association (NYGFOA) conference, to be held in Albany, NY, from April 17-19, 2024, offers valuable opportunities for attendees to enhance their knowledge of best practices in government accounting and to network with other professionals in the field; and
Whereas, it is in the best interest of the City to support the attendance of the Deputy Comptroller and one staff member at the NYGFOA conference to promote professional growth and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the City's financial operations; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain, and enact:
Section 1. Authorization. The City Council hereby authorizes the attendance of the Deputy Comptroller and one staff member at the 2024 New York Government Finance Officers Association (NYGFOA) conference in Albany, NY, from April 17-19, 2024.
Section 2. Registration and Expenses. The City shall cover the following expenses for the attendees:
• Conference registration fees totaling $510.00, to be charged to Budget Code A1325.417 (Education and Training).
• Travel expenses, including lodging, not to exceed $2,500.00 for both attendees, to be charged to Budget Code A1315.402 (Travel Expenses).
Section 3. Budget Codes. The appropriate budget codes specified in Section 2 shall be charged for the respective expenses incurred for attending the conference.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval by the Board of Estimate & Contract.
