RESOLVED, that an ordinance adopted by the City Council on December 13, 2023, and signed by the Mayor on December 14, 2023, amending Ordinance No. 16, adopted on September 13, 2023, entitled “AN ORDINANCE REQUESTING PERMISSION FOR CITY COUNCIL PRESIDENT DANIELLE BROWNE TO ATTEND THE CONGRESSIONAL BLACK CAUCUS ANNUAL LEGISLATIVE CONFERENCE IN WASHINGTON D.C.” - ([$2,100.00] $3,221.28 can be satisfied [from Account Code A1010.417 (City Council Education and Training)] as follows: (i) reimbursement of $250.00, fee for admission to the conference to be charged to A1010.417 (Education and Training), and (ii) the remaining balance of $2,971.28 for transportation, and lodging to be expensed to A1010.402 (Travel Expenses), be and the same is hereby approved.

CAUCUS ANNUAL LEGISLATIVE CONFERENCE
IN WASHINGTON D.C.”
The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain and enact:
Section 1. The first and second decretal paragraphs, and Section 2 of Ordinance No. 16, adopted by the City Council on September 13, 2023, entitled “AN ORDINANCE REQUESTING PERMISSION FOR CITY COUNCIL PRESIDENT DANIELLE BROWNE TO ATTEND THE CONGRESSIONAL BLACK CAUCUS ANNUAL LEGISLATIVE CONFERENCE IN WASHINGTON D.C.” is hereby amended as follows:
Whereas by letter dated [September 11] December 5, 2023, Legislative Assistant to the City Council [City Council President Danielle Browne] has requested amendment to the legislation authorizing her to attend the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference in Washington D.C. from September 20-24, 2023; and
Whereas the Conference provides an opportunity to meet with elected officials across the country and beyond as well as to meet with our Congressional representatives. City Council President Browne will be taking AMTRAK to said conference for a total of $230.00 roundtrip and staying four (4) nights in the hotel for approximately $350.00 per night with incidentals a total cost of [$2,100.00] $3,221.28; NOW, THEREFORE,
The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain and enact:
Section 1. Permission is hereby granted to City Council President Browne to attend the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference in Washington D.C. from September 20-24, 2023.
Section 2. Funds not to exceed [$2,100.00] $3,221.28 can be satisfied [from Account Code A1010.417 (City Council Education and Training)] as follows: (i) reimbursement of $250.00, fee for admission to the conference to be charged to A1010.417 (Education and Training), and (ii) the remaining balance of $2,971.28 for transportation, lodging and good to be expensed to A1010.402 (Travel Expenses).
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval by the Board of Estimate & Contract.
