RESOLVED, that an ordinance adopted by the City Council on December 11, 2024, and signed by the Mayor on December 12, 2024, authorizing the Transfer of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funds for the Purchase of Three (3) Vehicles for the Department of Public Safety - ($7,332.58 from Budget Line A3120.458ARP (Violence Prevention) to Budget Line A3120.203ARP (Equipment) to fund the purchase of three (3) Toyota Camry vehicles for the Department of Public Safety); be, and the same is hereby approved.

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF
THE AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT (ARPA) FUNDS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF THREE (3) VEHICLES
FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY
Whereas, by letter dated December 3, 2024, the Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety has requested legislation authorizing the Comptroller to transfer $7,332.58 from Budget Line A3120.458ARP (Violence Prevention) to Budget Line A3120.203ARP (Equipment) to fund the purchase of three (3) Toyota Camry vehicles for the Department of Public Safety; and
Whereas, the Department of Public Safety has identified the need for additional vehicles to enhance its operational efficiency and effectiveness in serving the residents of Mount Vernon; and
Whereas, the Department has requested the purchase of three (3) Toyota Camry vehicles for departmental use; and
Whereas, the necessary funds are available within ARPA allocations, specifically under Budget Line A3120.458ARP (Violence Prevention); and
Whereas, the proposed transfer of $7,332.58 from Budget Line A3120.458ARP (Violence Prevention) to Budget Line A3120.203ARP (Equipment) will ensure the proper allocation of funds for the purchase of the vehicles; and
Whereas, this reallocation aligns with the goals and purposes of the ARPA program to support public safety and community well-being; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain and enact:
Section 1. Authorization of Fund Transfer. The Comptroller is hereby authorized to transfer $7,332.58 from Budget Line A3120.458ARP (Violence Prevention) to Budget Line A3120.203ARP (Equipment) to fund the purchase of three (3) Toyota Camry vehicles for the Department of Public Safety.
Section 2. Approval of Expenditure. The Department of Public Safety is authorized to utilize the transferred funds to purchase the vehicles in compliance with applicable procurement policies and procedures.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Board of Estimate & Contract.
