AN ordinance AUTHORIZING the
“Extension of A Proposal Submission
Deadline for Audio-Visual Solution
Installation in City Facilities”
Whereas, by letter dated April 25, 2024, the Commissioner of the Department of Management Services, has requested the enactment of legislation to authorize the extension of the deadline for proposal submissions for the installation of an audio-visual solution in the City Council chambers, Committee Room, and Memorial Room of the City of Mount Vernon; and
Whereas, the Department of Management Services of the City of Mount Vernon has requested approval from the City Council to extend the deadline for proposals; and
Whereas, vendors have requested additional time to prepare proposals due to the scope of the project and the initial requirements set forth; and
Whereas, extending the deadline will allow vendors to fully address the needs of the City Council in their proposals; and
Whereas, it is deemed necessary to provide vendors with an adequate amount of time to address questions and concerns raised during the initial site visit; and
Whereas, the extension of the submission deadline will not have a financial impact on the overall project.
Now, Therefore, Be It Ordained by the City Council of Mount Vernon as Follows:
Section 1. Proposal Submission Deadline Extension. The City Council hereby approves the extension of the submission deadline for proposals to install an audio-visual solution in the City Council chambers, Committee Room, and Memorial Room. The deadline for submission of proposals shall be extended from May 10, 2024, to June 3, 2024.
Section 2. Implementation. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the City Council.
Section 3. Severability. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance.
Section 4. Repeal. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. Publication. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish this ordinance in accordance with the laws of the City of Mount Vernon.
Section 6. Enactment. This ordinance shall be deemed enacted upon passage and approval by the City Council.
Section 7. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval by the City Council.
