Section 1. Authorization to Mark Vehicles. The City Council authorizes marking five (5) 2022 Ford Police Interceptor vehicles to transition them from the Detective Division to patrol duty.
Section 2. Scope of Work. The scope of work to be performed by The Cruisers Division of Mamaroneck, NY, shall include:
1. The installation of prisoner partitions in the rear seat compartments of the vehicles.
2. The application of exterior markings is consistent with the standard Mount Vernon Police Department patrol fleet.
Section 3. Cost and Funding. The total cost of $31,897.00, at $6,379.40 per vehicle, shall be funded through Budget Line H3120.203.C666 (Asset Forfeiture Funds from the Department of Justice).
Section 4. Procurement Policy. Under the City of Mount Vernon’s Procurement Policy, adopted on April 24, 2024, the requirement for competitive bidding is waived for this procurement, as The Cruisers Division is registered under Westchester County contracts for the necessary parts and labor.

Converting these unmarked vehicles into patrol-ready units will extend the service life of the existing fleet and ensure uninterrupted police operations.
Section 6. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Board of Estimate & Contract.
