RESOLVED, that an ordinance adopted by the City Council on December 27, 2023, and signed by the Mayor on December 28, 2023, authorizing the Mayor and one staffer to attend the 92nd Annual Meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors - ( $ 3,000.00 will be expensed from Budget code A 1210.402 {Travel} for travel and hotel expenses; the total cost of the conference shall be expensed from budget code A 1210.403 {Membership & Dues} and will not exceed $6,000.00), be and the same is hereby approved.

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND ONE STAFFER TO ATTEND THE 92ND ANNUAL
MEETING OF THE U.S. CONFERENCE OF MAYORS
Whereas, by letter dated December 18, 2023, the Mayor has requested legislation authorizing the Mayor and one staffer to attend the 92nd Annual Meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Washington DC. from January 17 - 19, 2023; and
Whereas, the attendance of the Mayor and one staffer is deemed beneficial to the City of Mount Vernon; and
Whereas, the cost of attending the conference, including transportation, incidentals, registration fees, and hotel, is estimated not to exceed $6,000.00; and
Whereas, it is proposed that the cost of travel and hotel fees, not exceeding $3,000.00, will be expensed from Budget Code A 1210.402 - Travel; and
Whereas, the total cost of the conference will be expensed from Budget Code A 1210.403 - Membership & Dues in Service; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain, and enact:
Section 1. Authorization for Attendance. The City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and one staffer to attend the 92nd Annual Meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Washington DC from January 17 to January 19, 2023.
Section 2. Cost Limitation. The cost of attending the conference, including transportation, incidentals, registration fees, and hotel, shall not exceed $6,000.
Section 3. Expense Allocation.
(a) The cost of travel and hotel fees, not exceeding $3,000, shall be expensed from budget A 1210.402 - Travel.
(b) The total cost of the conference shall be expensed from Budget Code A 1210.403 - Membership & Dues.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval by the Board of Estimate & Contract.
