RESOLVED, that an ordinance adopted by the City Council on March 27, 2024, and signed by the Mayor on March 28, 2024, authorizing the renewal of an annual Contract Agreement between Business Electronics and the City of Mount Vernon Police Department - ($2,260.00 to be accounted for in Budget Line A3120.416, Technology Upgrades, Lease for the contract period: July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025), be and the same is hereby approved.

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE RENEWAL
OF AN ANNUAL CONTRACT AGREEMENT
BETWEEN BUSINESS ELECTRONICS AND THE
CITY OF MOUNT VERNON POLICE DEPARTMENT
Whereas, by letter dated March 14, 2024, the Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety has requested legislation authorizing the renewal of the annual contract agreement between Business Electronics and the City of Mount Vernon Police Department for the provision of interview room recording equipment and maintenance services; and
Whereas, the City of Mount Vernon Police Department relies on Business Electronics to provide interview room recording equipment and maintenance services; and
Whereas, the current contract between Business Electronics and the City of Mount Vernon Police Department is set to expire on June 30, 2024; and
Whereas, it is essential to ensure uninterrupted access to interview room recording equipment and maintenance services to support law enforcement operations; and
Whereas, Business Electronics has proven to be a reliable provider of these services, contributing to the effectiveness and efficiency of the City of Mount Vernon Police Department; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain, and enact:
Section 1. Contract Renewal Authorization. The Mayor of the City of Mount Vernon is hereby authorized to renew the annual contract agreement between Business Electronics and the City of Mount Vernon Police Department for the provision of interview room recording equipment and maintenance services.
Section 2. Contract Period. The contract renewal shall cover the period from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025.
Section 3. Financial Provisions. The total cost of the contract renewal with Business Electronics shall not exceed $2,260.00.
Section 4. Funding Source. The funds required for this contract renewal shall be sourced from Budget Line A3120.416.
Section 5. Authorization. The Mayor or their designee is hereby authorized to execute all necessary documents and take all actions required to effectuate the renewal of the contract with Business Electronics.
Section 6. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval by the Board of Estimate and Contract.
