City Council:
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE ANNUAL BUDGET
FOR THE CITY OF MOUNT VERNON FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR 2026
WHEREAS, pursuant to the City Charter of the City of Mount Vernon, the Board of Estimate and Contract prepared the Annual Estimate for the fiscal year 2026; and
WHEREAS, on December 4, 2025, the Board of Estimate and Contract duly directed that said Annual Estimate be transmitted to the City Council of the City of Mount Vernon, and such Annual Estimate was submitted to and received by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with law, the City Council conducted a public hearing on December 16, 2025, and provided all interested persons with an opportunity to be heard with respect to the proposed Annual Estimate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Mount Vernon, as follows:
Section 1. Adoption of the Annual Budget. The Annual Estimate for the fiscal year 2026, as submitted by the Board of Estimate and Contract, is hereby adopted as the Annual Budget of the City of Mount Vernon for the fiscal year 2026, in the amounts and for the purposes set forth therein.

Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
