A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 5,
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON JULY 9,
2025, ENTITLED "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
AWARD OF A CONTRACT FOR THE RESURFACING OF
VARIOUS STREETS IN THE CITY OF MOUNT VERNON
FOR THE YEARS 2025 THROUGH 2027"
The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain, and enact:
Section 1. The first decretal paragraph, item Nos. 1 and 4 in the first Whereas clause, Section 1 of Ordinance No. 5, adopted by the City Council on July 9, 2025, entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT FOR THE RESURFACING OF VARIOUS STREETS IN THE CITY OF MOUNT VERNON FOR THE YEARS 2025 THROUGH 2027," is hereby amended as follows:
Whereas, in a letter dated November 3, [June 10], 2025, the Commissioner of the Department of Public Works (DPW) has requested legislation to amend Resolution No. 5, adopted by the City Council on July 9, 2025, authorizing an award of contract to the lowest bidder for the Resurfacing of Various Streets in the City of Mount Vernon - 2025-202[7] 8, for $4,743,214, for a term of [two (2)] three (3) years, as it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City; and
Whereas:
1. The City of Mount Vernon issued a public invitation to bid for the project entitled "Resurfacing of Various Streets in the City of Mount Vernon - 2025-202[7] 8"; and
2. Bids were publicly opened and read by the Board of Estimate and Contract on June 3, 2025; and
3. Upon review of the submitted bids, the Department of Public Works recommends awarding the contract to the lowest responsible bidder, Petrillo Contracting, Inc., with a principal place of business located at 41 Edison Avenue, Mount Vernon, NY 10550, in the total amount of Four Million Seven Hundred Forty-Three Thousand Two Hundred Fourteen Dollars ($4,743,214); and
4. The streets to be resurfaced during the 2025-202[7] 8 contract period have been identified and prioritized based on the following criteria:
