A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
SETTLEMENT OF THE LAWSUIT OF
LAWSEN RIDDENHOUR
WHEREAS, on October 26, 2023, Lawsen Riddenhour filed a Notice of Claim against the City of Mount Vernon, alleging violation of his civil rights and personal injuries resulting from prosecution for drug sales on June 14, 2017; and
WHEREAS, on March 13, 2024, a federal lawsuit was filed against the City of Mount Vernon on behalf of Lawsen Riddenhour; and
WHEREAS, by letter dated November 27, 2024, the Corporation Counsel has recommended that the Board of Estimate & Contract approve the settlement of this claim for the total sum of $2,500.00; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the claim of Lawsen Riddenhour be settled in the amount of $2,500.00, with said settlement hereby approved; and be it further
RESOLVED, this sum shall be paid from Code A1930.494 (Judgments & Settlements) in the 2024 Budget.
