RESOLVED, that a resolution adopted by the City Council on May 22, 2024, and signed by the Mayor on May 23, 2024, authorizing the Mayor to enter into an Agreement with the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) and accept a Grant of $70,000 -(grant funds will be deposited into Revenue Code 2705, Gifts and Donations and appropriated in the following Budget Codes: A7141.458, 0ther Expense and A7141.104, Part-Time Salaries), be and the same is hereby approved.
City Council:
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
NATIONAL RECREATION AND PARKS ASSOCIATION
(NRPA) AND ACCEPT A GRANT OF $70,000
Whereas, by letter dated May 15, 2024, the Commissioner of the Recreation Department has requested legislation authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) to accept a grant of $70,000 to support the Youth Program; and
Whereas, the City of Mount Vernon is dedicated to enhancing youth programs and providing mentorship opportunities for its young residents; and
Whereas, the National Recreation and Parks Association has awarded a grant of $70,000 to the City of Mount Vernon to support the Youth Program; and
Whereas, the grant funds will be distributed in one lump sum to be used between September 2023 and December 2025; and
Whereas, these funds will significantly contribute to the development and success of the Youth Program, and
Whereas, the grant funds will be deposited into Revenue Code 27051 (Gifts and Donations) and appropriated in A7141.458 (Other Expense) and A7141.104 (Part Time Salaries); Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
