RESOLVED, that an ordinance adopted by the City Council on May 22, 2024, and signed by the Mayor on May 23, 2024, authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with Graphic Artist Jason W. Pritchett for the Mount Vernon Youth Bureau's Animation Summer Academy. (July 8, 2024, through August 15, 2024, cost not to exceed $3,600.00, which will be funded through Expense Code A7316-405, contracted expenses, with no cost to the City), be and the same is hereby approved.

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT
WITH GRAPHIC ARTIST JASON W. PRITCHETT
FOR THE MOUNT VERNON YOUTH BUREAU'S
ANIMATION SUMMER ACADEMY
Whereas, the Deputy Director of the Youth Bureau, through a letter dated May 1, 2024, has requested the enactment of legislation authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with Graphic Artist Jason W. Pritchett for the implementation of the Mount Vernon Youth Bureau's Animation Summer Academy program; and
Whereas, the City of Mount Vernon recognizes the importance of providing educational and enriching opportunities for its youth during the summer months; and
Whereas, the Mount Vernon Youth Bureau aims to foster creativity and skill development among its participants through innovative programs; and
Whereas, Graphic Artist Jason W. Pritchett has proposed an Animation Summer Academy program aimed at teaching flipbook animation, the principles of animation, game design with Scratch, and stop-motion animation; and
Whereas, this program is designed to engage fifteen (15) participants in a comprehensive learning experience from July 8, 2024, through August 15, 2024; and
Whereas, the total cost for the program is estimated not to exceed $3,600.00, which will be funded through Expense Code A7316-405 (contracted expenses) with no cost to the City; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
