RESOLVED, that an ordinance adopted by the City Council on March 27, 2024, and signed by the Mayor on March 28, 2024, authorizing the Mayor's attendance at the USCM Homelessness Task Force Conference (April 28-30, 2024, $2,000.00 to be expensed from Budget Code A1210.402, Travel), be and the same is hereby approved.

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING MAYOR'S
ATTENDANCE AT THE USCM HOMELESSNESS
TASK FORCE CONFERENCE (April 28 - 30, 2024)
Whereas, by letter dated March 18, 2024, the Mayor has requested legislation authorizing the Mayor to attend the USCM Homelessness Task Force conference from April 28-30, 2024, in Washington DC; and
Whereas, the City of Mount Vernon recognizes the importance of addressing homelessness and supporting initiatives aimed at tackling this pressing issue; and
Whereas, the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) is organizing a Homelessness Task Force conference from April 28-30, 2024, in Washington DC, providing a valuable opportunity for municipal leaders to collaborate on strategies to address homelessness; and
Whereas, the Mayor has been invited to attend the USCM Homelessness Task Force conference, acknowledging the significance of this event for the City of Mount Vernon; and
Whereas, it is essential to authorize the Mayor's attendance at the conference and allocate funds for travel and related expenses; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain, and enact:
Section 1. Authorization for Mayor's Attendance. The City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to attend the USCM Homelessness Task Force conference from April 28-30, 2024 in Washington DC.
Section 2: Expense Limit. The total expenses for the entire trip, including transportation, incidentals, registration fees, and hotel, shall not exceed $2,000.00.
