RESOLVED, that an ordinance adopted by the City Council on March 27, 2024, and signed by the Mayor on March 28, 2024, authorizing attendance at the Empowering Leadership Seminar - (five (5) Members of Service ("MoS") to attend on April 25, 2024, at $150.00 per person - a total of $750.00 to be accounted for in Budget Line A3120.451, Training), be and the same is hereby approved.

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ATTENDANCE
AT THE EMPOWERING LEADERSHIP SEMINAR
(April 25, 2024)
Whereas, by letter dated March 14, 2024, the Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety has requested legislation authorizing five (5) Members of Service ("MoS") to attend the Empowering Leadership Seminar; and
Whereas, the Department of Public Safety recognizes the importance of continuous professional development for its MoS; and
Whereas, five (5) MoS have been identified to attend the Empowering Leadership Seminar, scheduled for April 25, 2024, at the Westchester County Police Academy in Valhalla, New York; and
Whereas, the seminar aims to empower leadership skills among MoS, fostering effective decision-making and team management within the Department of Public Safety; and
Whereas, the MoS must utilize a department vehicle for transportation to and from the training venue, and reimbursement for gas, tolls, and miscellaneous charges not to exceed $50.00 per attendee is requested; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain, and enact:
Section 1. Authorization for Training Attendance. The City Council hereby authorizes five (5) Members of Service ("MoS") to attend the Empowering Leadership Seminar on April 25, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Westchester County Police Academy, located at 2 Dana Road, Valhalla, New York.
