RESOLVED, that an ordinance adopted by the City Council on March 27, 2024, and signed by the Mayor on March 28, 2024, authorizing attendance of one (1) Member of Service ("MoS") at the DCJS Firearms Instructor Course (April 12-26, 2024 / $990.00 to be accounted for in Budget Line A3120.451, Training), be and the same is hereby approved.

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ATTENDANCE
OF ONE MEMBER OF SERVICE ("MOS") AT THE
DCJS FIREARMS INSTRUCTOR COURSE
(April 12 through April 26, 2024)
Whereas, by letter dated March 7, 2024, the Commissioner for the Department of Public Safety has requested legislation authorizing one (1) Member of Service ("MoS") from the Department of Public Safety is hereby authorized to attend the DCJS Firearms Instructor Course, scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from April 12-26, 2024, at the Rockland County Police and Public Safety Academy, located at 2 Short Cove Road, Haverstraw, NY; and
Whereas, the City of Mount Vernon recognizes the importance of providing ongoing training and professional development opportunities to members of the Department of Public Safety; and
Whereas, it is necessary for the MoS to utilize a department vehicle for transportation to and from the training and to; and
Whereas, the cost of the training is $990.00, to be funded from Budget Line A3120.451 (Training), the attending MoS will require transportation to and from the training venue, for which reimbursement for associated expenses not to exceed $500.00 (i.e., meals, gas, tolls, meals) Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
Section 1. Authorization for Attendance. The City Council hereby approves the attendance of one (1) Member of Service ("MoS") in the DCJS Firearms Course to be held from April 12 to April 26, 2024, at the Rockland County Police and Public Safety Academy in Haverstraw, New York.
