RESOLVED, that an ordinance adopted by the City Council on March 13, 2024, and signed by the Mayor on March 14, 2024, authorizing the purchase of SCOTTS AV 3K MASKS - Personal Protective Equipment ("PPE") for the Fire Department (50 sets to be purchased from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) under Budget Code H3410.203.C929 PHS-004 1.14), be and the same is hereby approved.

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
SCOTTS AV 3K MASKS AND PERSONAL PROTECTIVE
EQUIPMENT (PPE) FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
Whereas, by letter dated March 5, 2024, the Commissioner of the Fire Department has requested legislation authorizing the purchase of 50 sets of Scotts AV 3K Masks, Personal Protective Equipment ("PPE"); and
Whereas, the Fire Administration has determined that the purchase of 50 sets of Scotts AV 3K Masks PPE is essential to ensure the safety of firefighters during emergency operations; and
Whereas, the Scotts AV3K Masks are a critical component of the Protective Gear Envelope of the PPE Uniform for firefighters, providing essential protection in high-temperature environments; and
Whereas, the Fire Department of Mount Vernon is in urgent need of this Protective Gear to replace aging equipment that is approaching expiration, thereby safeguarding the well-being of firefighters; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain, and enact:
Section 1. Authorization for Purchase. The Fire Department is hereby authorized to purchase 50 sets of Scotts AV 3K Masks Personal Protective Equipment as follows:
* Scotts AV 3K - High-Temperature Masks (Medium):
30 sets x $375.00 = $11,250.00
* Scotts AV 3K - High Temperature Masks (Large):
20 sets x $375.00 = $7,500.00
Total Cost: $18,750.00
The vendor for this purchase shall be AAA Emergency Supply Co. Inc., utilizing NY State Contract: 69006.
