RESOLVED, that a resolution adopted by the City Council on March 27, 2024, and signed by the Mayor on March 28, 2024, authorizing the amendment of the position title in the 2024 Fire Department Budget (from "Crime Analyst" to "Fire EMS Operations Analyst"), be and the same is hereby approved.

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
AMENDMENT OF THE POSITION TITLE
IN THE 2024 FIRE DEPARTMENT BUDGET
Whereas, by letter dated March 6, 2024, the Commissioner of the Fire Department has requested legislation authorizing a change in the position title listed in the 2024 Fire Department Budget from "Crime Analyst" to "Fire EMS Operations Analyst"; and
Whereas, this change reflects the evolving needs and functions of the Fire Department in maintaining effective emergency medical services (EMS) operations within the City of Mount Vernon;
Whereas:
1. The Mount Vernon Fire Department requires enhanced tracking, analysis, and documentation of various operational aspects to support effective strategic planning.
2. The creation of a new Fire-EMS Operations Analyst position is deemed necessary to fulfill the data collection and analysis needs of the Fire Department.
3. The proposed position has been reviewed and approved by the Civil Service and the Department of Human Resources.
4. Funds amounting to $56,935.47 have been allocated in the 2024 Budget Code A3410.101 (Salaries and Wages) to support the creation of the new position.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain, and enact:
Section 1. Amendment of Position Title. The position listed in the 2024 Fire Department Budget, previously designated as "Crime Analyst," shall be amended to reflect the title "Fire EMS Operations Analyst."
