Board of Estimate & Contract:
Whereas, on September 13, 2023, THOMAS, BRENDA filed a Notice of Claim seeking the sum of $6,039.01 against the City of Mount Vernon for property damage allegedly caused to the claimant’s 2018 Acura when claimant’s vehicle ran over an unsecured manhole cover at the roundabout on Lincoln and Gramatan Avenue (the Circle) on August 10, 2023; and
Whereas, by letter dated February 13, 2024, the Corporation Counsel hereby recommends that the Board of Estimate & Contract approve the settlement of the aforesaid claim in the amount of $500.00; NOW, THEREFORE, be it
Resolved, that the aforesaid claim of THOMAS, BRENDA, be settled for the sum of $500.00 and that said settlement be and the same hereby is approved; and be it further
Resolved, that said sum is to be paid out of Budget Code A1910.469 (Insurance - Claims), 2024 Budget.
