AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION
OF FUNDS FOR HIRING WEB DEVELOPERS IN
THE DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT SERVICES
Whereas, by letter dated February 6, 2024, the Commissioner for the Department of Management Services has requested legislation authorizing the allocation of funds for the hiring of two staff members for the Department of Management Services: one Web Developer and one Junior Web Developer; and
Whereas, the City of Mount Vernon recognizes the critical importance of its online presence through the city website, serving as a vital resource for residents, businesses, and visitors; and
Whereas, the demand for web development expertise has increased, necessitating the hiring of additional staff members to enhance the functionality and user experience of the city website; and
Whereas, the Department of Management Services requires the employment of a Web Developer and a Junior Web Developer to meet the evolving needs of the city website; and
Whereas, the Department of Civil Service has recently adopted job descriptions for the positions of Web Developer and Junior Web Developer, specifying their roles, responsibilities, and salary grades; and
Whereas, the 2024 Fiscal Year Budget (Code A1680.101) has allocated funds for the hiring of these positions; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain, and enact:
Section 1. Authorization to Hire. The City of Mount Vernon is hereby authorized to allocate funds for the hiring of two staff members for the Department of Management Services: one Web Developer and one Junior Web Developer.
Section 2. Salary Assessment. The salary ranges for the positions of Junior Web Developer (Grade 2) and Web Developer (Grade 4) shall be as follows:
