AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A ONE-YEAR
LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR CAROLYN TREASURE
Whereas, by letter dated January 26, 2024, the Executive Director of the Youth Bureau has requested legislation authorizing a one-year leave of absence for Carolyn Treasure from her current position as Assistant Youth Service Aide, commencing on January 22, 2024, through January 22, 2025; and
Whereas, Carolyn Treasure currently serves as Assistant Youth Service Aide in the City of Mount Vernon; and
Whereas, Carolyn Treasure has been offered the opportunity to assume the role of Youth Employment Service Coordinator (YESC) within the Youth Bureau, starting from January 22, 2024; and
Whereas, Carolyn Treasure has the necessary qualifications and experience to excel in the role of YESC, which will contribute positively to the objectives of the Youth Bureau; and
Whereas, it is in the best interest of the City to enable Carolyn Treasure to fulfill her potential and further her career within the Youth Bureau by granting her a one-year leave of absence from her current position as Assistant Youth Service Aide; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain, and enact:
Section 1. Leave of Absence. The City Council hereby authorizes Carolyn Treasure to take a one-year leave of absence from her current position as Assistant Youth Service Aide, commencing on January 22, 2024, through January 22, 2025.
Section 2. Role Transition. During her leave of absence, Carolyn Treasure shall assist in facilitating the transition of the incoming Assistant Youth Service Aide to ensure a smooth transfer of responsibilities.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval.
