RESOLVED, that an ordinance adopted by the City Council on February 14, 2024, and signed by the Mayor on February 15, 2024, authorizing three (3) Members of Service ("MoS") to attend the Consensual Encounters Training Course (Paladin Center, 39 Seminary Hill Road, Carmel Hamlet, NY on February 8, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - $375.00 to be satisfied from Budget Line A3120.451, Training), be and the same is hereby approved.

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THREE (3)
MEMBERS OF SERVICE ("MOS") TO ATTEND THE
CONSENSUAL ENCOUNTERS TRAINING COURSE
Whereas, by letter dated January 22, 2024, the Interim Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety has requested legislation authorizing three (3) Members of Service ("MoS") to attend the Consensual Encounters Training Course to be held at the Paladin Center located at 39 Seminary Hill Road, Carmel Hamlet, NY on February 8, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the use of a department vehicle to and from this course; and
Whereas, the City of Mount Vernon recognizes the importance of providing continuous training and professional development opportunities for its law enforcement personnel; and
Whereas, there exists a Consensual Encounters Training Course to be held at the Paladin Center located at 39 Seminary Hill Road, Carmel Hamlet, NY from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on February 8, 2024, beneficial for the enhancement of skills and knowledge of law enforcement personnel; and
Whereas the cost for attending this training for three (3) Members of Service ("MoS") is $375.00 ($125.00 per person), to be satisfied from Budget Line A3120.451 (Training); Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
