RESOLVED, that an ordinance adopted by the City Council on January 24, 2024, and signed by the Mayor on January 25, 2024, authorizing the Mayor to renew the agreement with Citizens Observer Contract LLC, Tip411 (renewal period from 4/1/24-3/31/25 in the amount of $3,420.00 to be satisfied in Budget Code A3120.449 {Investigations and Trials}), be and the same is hereby approved.

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO RENEW THE AGREEMENT WITH
CITIZENS OBSERVER LLC, TIP411
Whereas, by letter dated January 17, 2024, the Interim Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety has requested legislation authorizing the Mayor to renew the Agreement with Citizens Observer LLC, Tip411 for the period April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025; and
Whereas the City of Mount Vernon recognizes the importance of utilizing modern technology to enhance public safety and law enforcement efforts; and
Whereas, the City Council previously approved an agreement with Citizen Tip411 on March 23, 2022, which has proven effective in receiving anonymous tips from civilians; and
Whereas, the existing agreement is set to expire on March 31, 2024, and the City seeks to renew the agreement for an additional year to continue benefiting from the services provided by Citizen Tip411; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain, and enact:
Section 1. Agreement Renewal with Citizen Tip411:
(a) The Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement renewal with Citizens Observer LLC, Tip411 for the period of April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025.
(b) The cost of the subscription renewal for the agreement shall be $3,420.00.
Section 2. Funding Source. Funds for the subscription renewal shall be satisfied from Budget Code A3120.449 (Investigations and Trials).
