RESOLVED, that an ordinance adopted by the City Council on January 24, 2024, and signed by the Mayor on January 25, 2024, authorizing two (2) Members of Service ("MoS") to attend the Fire & Emergency Services Instructor 1 Course - ($1,200.00 available in Budget Code A3410.451. NY State Fire Academy from February 5-9, 2024), be and the same is hereby approved.

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING TWO (2)
MEMBERS OF SERVICE ("MoS") TO ATTEND THE
FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES INSTRUCTOR 1 COURSE
Whereas, by letter dated January 16, 2024, the Fire Commissioner has requested legislation authorizing two (2) Members of Service ("MoS") to attend the Fire & Emergency Services Instructor 1 (2019 Edition) 01-11-0162 at the NY State Fire Academy from February 5-9, 2024; and
Whereas, the Fire Administration of the City of Mount Vernon recognizes the importance of continuous training for its personnel; and
Whereas, the Fire & Emergency Services Instructor 1 (2019 Edition) 01-11-0162 is a course designed to prepare firefighters to meet instructor-level performance requirements of NFPA Standards; and
Whereas, this course is required for Training Officers/Instructors; and
Whereas, the City of Mount Vernon Fire Department wishes to send two (2) MoS to attend this crucial training from February 5-9, 2024; and
Whereas, the department seeks authorization for the use of city vehicles for transportation to and from the Academy, as well as reimbursement for associated costs including fuel, tolls, and meals; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That
